CHICAGO, NOVEMBER 30, 2009 The Beatles, Harry Potter and now Limmud, the latest U.K. export.  Limmud Chicago is an independent organization dedicated to creating engaging opportunities for experiencing and celebrating Jewish learning and culture.  Limmud (Learning) is at the heart of everything.  The aim is to provide a portal for participants to explore their connection to a rich heritage of Jewish ideas, traditions, culture and people.  In the process, a community is created which transcends diverse backgrounds and labels and allows the participants to deepen their understanding, of each other as individuals, and as a people.

The first Annual, Limmud Chicago Conference will take place on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Oakton Community College in Des Plaines.  To whet the appetite, there will be several Taste of Limmud programs during 2009 and in January 2010, throughout the Chicagoland area.

Limmud Chicago is a pan-denominational, multi-generational organization of tireless volunteers from a wide variety of Jewish backgrounds, affiliations, denominations, circumstances and orientations.  This group comes together to explore all facets of Jewish life, identity and culture, following the Limmud model that everyone has something to learn, everyone has something to teach and the entire community has something to gain.
